Tom Abts has been the PGA Head Golf Professional at Deer Run GC in Victoria, MN for over 20 years.

Tom grew-up in a suburb of Minneapolis and went to college at Arizona State University. While at ASU, Tom took up golf and applied his former baseball skills to the golf swing. Tom believes that his coming to golf “late” has been an advantage to his teaching and his managing a golf operation – he takes nothing for granted.

Though never putting a major emphasis on playing, Tom has won a few local Pro-Am golf tournaments and his 65 at Deer Run GC was the course record for many years.

Tom prides himself on being an innovator and his FAST PLAY FRIDAY was featured in GOLF DIGEST. He is a former MN PGA Promoter of the Year and a winner of the GOLF BUSINESS MAGAZINE “Idea of the Year”.
